How Noillirk Inverts the Ocean Dive

In traditional Krillion, the goal is cognitive inhibition: resisting the obvious answer so you can dig deep into your memory for an obscure fact. In Noillirk, the rules flip upside down:

  • Obvious First Reactions (100 pts): Apple, Harvard, Soccer, Gold. The answers that 90% of the world types in 1 second are crowned with full points.
  • Mainstream Schooler Answers (85 pts): Common secondary examples that everyone recognizes immediately.
  • Obscure Gems (10 pts): Rare species, obscure colleges, and regional trivia that take 10 seconds to remember are penalized.
Rarity Category Krillion Score Noillirk Score Example: "Olympic Sport"
🦐 Obvious (Cliché) 10 pts 100 pts (+1,000m) Track / 100m Dash
🐟 Schooler 30 pts 85 pts (+850m) Swimming / Gymnastics
🦑 Rare 60 pts 60 pts (+600m) Rowing / Fencing
🏮 Deep Cut 85 pts 30 pts (+300m) Modern Pentathlon
🌟 One in a Krillion 100 pts 10 pts (+100m) Steeplechase / Double Sculls

Three Strategies for Maximizing Your Noillirk Score

  1. Speed over deliberation: The moment the prompt appears, type the word that flashes in your consciousness before your internal editor kicks in. If you hesitate for 3 seconds, you've likely overthought it.
  2. Favor school-curriculum staples: The most common answers are the ones taught in elementary school textbooks (e.g. Gold for elements, Harvard for universities, Paris for European capitals).
  3. Avoid specialized knowledge: If you have a degree in biology or cinema, beware of your personal bias. Choose the box-office leader, not the indie darling.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Noillirk?

Noillirk is 'Krillion' spelled backwards. It is the viral reverse-mode trivia game where standard scoring is completely inverted. While Krillion rewards rare, obscure knowledge, Noillirk rewards hivemind thinking: the most cliché, obvious first-reaction answers earn the maximum 100 points.

How does scoring work in Noillirk?

In Noillirk, Obvious answers (Top of Mind / Plankton) yield 100 points (+1,000m). Schooler answers yield 85 points (+850m). Rare answers score 60 points, Deep Cuts score 30 points, and designated 'One in a Krillion' obscure gems score only 10 points.

Why is Noillirk harder than it looks?

Players conditioned by Wordle or standard Krillion tend to overthink prompts. If asked for a fruit eaten with skin on, an overthinking player might type 'Cloudberry' or 'Kumquat' (worth only 10-30 pts in Noillirk), whereas simply typing 'Apple' nets an instant 100-point maximum.

Is Noillirk free to play without limits?

Yes, you can play unlimited rounds of Noillirk completely free directly in your browser on desktop or mobile.
